Inventory managment Mid-Game

So I am at mid game now my factory span in a large area however now getting basic metrical to my inventory to craft buildings is become a chore I have to run the entire factory just to retrieve plates for my building construction I can use a stack insincere mod but I really like this game and I want to go for 100% achievement
anyone has any idea how to reduce this entire factory running busywork just to retrieve some martial for contraction?

Most of your buildings and factory parts should be built in the factory, (e.g. assemblers, inserters, belts, etc.) You'll save yourself a lot of inventory space by picking up finished goods at the factory instead of hauling raw materials around. Handcrafting is best done sparingly, only in "emergencies", IMO.

I suggest you do the Lazy Bastard achievement; it's my favorite one to do, and completely changed the way I build factories.

Alternatively, you can also take a building train filled with goods out to far-off locations to supply you with items.

yes I have factories for belts inserters and such but they are being stored and produced in far side of my factory
my factory expanding to west but belts and basic inserters is at south east.the distance is long enough to become annoying by foot,and short so train is useless also inside of my factory is full of factories and object so driving in it is impossible

Katherine is right. By that stage in the game, I don't carry around iron plates any more. Just dump all your raw materials into the machines that use them, and pick up an inventory full of whatever belts, inserters, etc. you need. You should be able to get everything in one trip that way.

Get bots and use them along with logistic chests to just request the items, they will just bring them to you :) just remember to upgrade your power etc before you use them too much, also research bot speed, it may SEEM useless but boy is it good

Also put concrete all over your factory and equip exoskeletons in your armor, with those you can run faster than cars could drive.
