Setting up train route
Is it just me, or: when trying to create a new train route, I have to select stations by name. But I have no idea what the station name is (and, no, I don't really want to start having to rename each station). From the dialog where I do it, I can't click to select a station, nor can I hover over a station to see its name so that I can use that.

You can see station names on the map view, but I really recommend renaming the stations as you create them. Having a system is very useful because after you set up some trains itallows you to immediately see what the train is doing simply by reading the station names.

I agree the interface could be improved.

Just to be clear: I set up routes by going Trains > Train menu > Schedule. That's where I set up the schedule. It has an overview map at the right, which is great, but on that map there are no station names, and no hovers. So as I'm adding stations to the schedule, the only thing I can pick from is station names. I can see where the station I want is on that overview/preview map, but I have no idea what its name is, which is what i have to pick for the schedule... That's the place I'm trying to discover how I know which station to pick....

As Hedning suggests: when placing a train stop onto the ground, give it a name that tells you what it does ~ then you will always know which stop to add to each trains' schedule.
You can copy-paste train stops too, for multi-lane stations, so it does not take much extra effort to name-as-you-build.

Here is part of my current station list for example: https://i.imgur.com/gnJjbqD.png?1
CP = copper smelter, IR = iron smelter, GC = green chips, etc.

edit ~ ps, you can click stations from the map view to rename them.

When you have a train schedule window open, you can still press M to bring up the map in the background, to see all your station names. Drag the train window to the corner and use WASD to scroll the map to find the one you want if it isn't visible.

Ahh, thanks. (Wouldn't have thought of that, Fac has a weird interface!)
