"Pick Block" Feature
Was wondering if this existed in Factorio like in Minecraft where you middle mouse click a block and your hand is selected to that item in your inventory.

There is, it is called "pipette".

With the default controls, you hit Q while hovering something you built on the map and it will put it in your "hand" if you have it in your inventory.
The same key is used to empty your hand so it is fairly easy to miss.

Q will also pull out a miner if you press it while hovering over minerals.
