Is it possible to automatically collect alien loot?
Hi, I am using the Alien Loot Economy mod which makes aliens drop loot again. I am trying to figure out how to automatically collect the loot but can't seem to find a solution. Did a little search here, a little search on youtube and looked through the mod database. The best I could find was the "Auto deconstruct loot" mod but I cannot install that one because apparently there is "No released version" available.

I have a personal roboport, a roboport and logistics robots. As far as I understand I need to mark any loot that I want picked up with the "Deconstruction planner". My base right now is walled in and aliens keep dying in front of my walls.

If it is possible I would like the outside area around my walls to periodically be marked for "Deconstruction" so my logistics robot would just pick up the loot themselves but unfortunately I have no idea how to do that. I can pick up nearby loot myself with my personal roboport and the logistics robots but I would like to automate that process for my entire base so it gets picked up even when I am not there.

Is it possible to do that? What kind of chests or mods would I need to set that up and how do I have to link them? I only know the very basics of the logistics networks. Is there a way to give out a "Deconstruct" command every "X" seconds on tiles "Y-Z" (the tiles outside my walls within range of the roboport) or how would I go about to set something like that up?

Thanks in advance!

Auto-deconstruction of items on the ground is part of the Nanobots mod IIRC, (either that one or Picker Extended). Works quite well.

Thanks for your reply. I just watched the spotlight on both mods. The "Automatic item retriever" of the "Nanobots" mod seems useful. Unfortunately it looks like I can only use it in my own personal roboport. It is still very helpful though because now the loot around me gets marked automatically. I will try to upgrade the range on that one to see how far it goes.

I noticed that the construction robots in my roboports now pick up the loot that was marked by the "Automatic item retriever". I thought logistics robots are supposed to pick up items from the ground or not? Still new to this, maybe I just never noticed it correctly. Not that it really matters to me which type of robot picks up the items though.

Is there any mod / building that would maybe allow me to put that "Automatic item retriever" in it? Probably would have to be a building that kind of acts like a modular armour?

Edit:

Ohhhhhh nevermind, I think I just might have found it in the "Nanobots" mod.
"Roboport Interface:

The roboport interface allows you to program your logistic networks to do mundane tasks for you. Place a Roboport interface and set virtual signals on the built in combinator. If there are enemies in the construction zone your robots will not execute these tasks. Only up to half of your available construction bots will be uses for these tasks.

Find items: Will scan for any items on the ground in your network and order your construction robots to pick them up."

Yup yup that is exactly what I was looking for. I think I can make it work with that one.

Thanks again!!!

I can't speak for this or any mod, but logistics are purely for moving items in the logistics network, aka the colored chests and your own logistics request interface. Construction bots handle anything that is being "deconstructed" which includes items on the ground that were marked for deconstruction with the red-print (or mods). You can see this if you deconstruct fish, or destroy a rock that a biter or you destroyed and deconstruct the stone that is left over.
