How to vent gas only if pipe has too much?

I'm playing Bob's mods and I have a pipe that keeps filling up with too much oxygen. I need some oxygen, but the electrolyzer is creating too much compared to the chlorine, so the chlorine stops getting produced because I can't vent the surplus oxygen. I'd like to somehow activate the gas venting pump if the oxygen pipe fills up to max, but gas venting pumps can't be attached to combinators. Any ideas?

Place a regular pump between the storage tank and the vent and use the pump to control venting, just like you would use pumps to control cracking?

Yes! Thank you! I hadn't thought of the regular pump for gasses. Relief. :)

You can always just use a combinator/power switch setup to turn on the pylon powering the gas venting pump, "red wire" your combinator to the chlorine storage tank then when your tank is say 80% full it will turn on automatically, just be sure the pylon is isolated from the others or the pump will run all the time :)

In theory, one could TRY and use up all that oxygen in lead processing, but doing so would simply push the imbalance into a chest in the form of lead oxide. You really don't need that much lead. OH! and you'd get a form of sulfur as a byproduct to deal with too....so the answer to your question is "technically there are ways to eat excess oxygen BUT...".


Personally I wound up using pumps in series to act as AND or OR gates for two different conditions (one was comparing oxygen to hydrogen, the other was dumping if there was plain too much. I can't remember the exact setup, though.)
