Any way to increase the amount of ores?
As the title says I am wondering if I can increase the amount of ores in one of the little ore patches, Or if you can edit the files or download a mod for it, any help is greatly appreciated since its really annoying moving my Mining Drills.

The richness changes that value.

How do I increase the Richness? Would I have to do that at the start of the game?

Yes, map settings are all set before generating the map. When starting a new game, there is a window with map settings that can be adjusted.

Is it possible to edit it in the Factorio Folder?

you can manually add ore patches in the console. the wiki has info on how to do it. However doing so will disable acievments. Other then that your only option is to start a new game.

I also recommend starting with Very Big,, very low frequency ore patches, in addition to very high richness. I dislike moving my miners around as well...

When you start the game can you increase the Oil yield aswell? Since on my save all my yields are at 0.1 per second and its really frustrating.

Oil will always go down to 0.1 so the richness setting is pretty much ineffective and the size of oil fields matters more.

If you increase richness then you will get more oil at the start when yield is still good but all oil wells will eventually be reduced to the minimum which is 0.1/s

When you start a new game you get the map generator screen. From there you can set the frequency (how close togeather the deposits are on the map) Size (how many tiles of the resource are in a deposit). Richness (how much of each resource is in a single tile).

For oil that means a very good richness will be somthing like 3.7 oil per oil hole. Size means how many oil holes are grouped togeather (with low you might only see 4 oil holes next to each other. On very big you might see 40 oil holes next to each other. For frequency that means each grouping of oil on very low might be 1,000 tiles from each other, and on very high they might only be 200 tiles from each other.

As far as richness goes oil deplets at 1% every 1 minute and 15 secounds down to 10% or 0.1 production.

Nah, the initial glut of oil is very short. It's far better to allocate large fields, and then upon depletion, fill the pumpjacks with speed modules and surround with speed beacons.

You should start your own topic... or even better: read the pinned posts!
