Electric boilers are NOT a power source. Electric boilers are for creating steam in a more convenient way for use in *crafting recipes* at the cost of being slightly power lossy.
And when first saw them i thought would be great with steam engines. Then realised power requirement was too high so realised its for making steam with out coal or wood or such. I forget what recipes use it off hand. I also believe its pollution is lower then fuel version?
But ya as stated above its basicially a assembly machine to make steam for crafting.
Btw you can also use them for storing energy. Create steam when you have excess, store it in tanks, and use it when you need energy
