Electric boiler -> steam engine - uses all the power it produces?
I have an array of 100 electric boilers and 100 steam engines. Yet my net power out seems to be zero because the electric boiler consumes all the power the steam engine produces. Am I mistaken, or is this what happens when you plug a steam engine into an electric boiler? If so, what good are electric boilers?

Electric boilers are for producing steam for crafting recipes that require steam without having to burn fuel.

That's from a mod, probably angels.

Electric boilers are NOT a power source. Electric boilers are for creating steam in a more convenient way for use in *crafting recipes* at the cost of being slightly power lossy.

I believe its from bobs mods actually as i have same mod/item and i have all angels turned off for this run.

And when first saw them i thought would be great with steam engines. Then realised power requirement was too high so realised its for making steam with out coal or wood or such. I forget what recipes use it off hand. I also believe its pollution is lower then fuel version?

But ya as stated above its basicially a assembly machine to make steam for crafting.

Space exploration also adds electric boilers.

Btw you can also use them for storing energy. Create steam when you have excess, store it in tanks, and use it when you need energy

Got it, thanks everyone. At first I though, well an electric boiler! Don't have to supply coal, has to be better than the coal powered boilers! But as I used more and more I eventually realized that they consume exactly as much power as a steam engine attached to them will produce. So I finally figured out you can't use them to run a steam engine to produce power.

Otherwise that would be a perpetual motion machine. ;)
