%appdata%/factorio/mods
Just like it's written on the first post.
%appdata% will take you to the current user's "Roaming" folder in the hidden "AppData" folder.
If you launched the game just once, the Factorio folder should be there, as it is where the config is stored, as well as the save data.
Exactly what I did.... a simple enough extra step.... but a hell of a pain if you don't know about it. And my heart goes out to those who are less computer literate.
On the plus side, you also need that account for multiplayer depending on the server's settings, so if you plan on jumping into multiplayer, it's not a bad idea to have that acount anyway.
More overhead for the users. Quadrillion of places to register if you have many games ... quite annoying.
(I obviously don't mean it, it's convenient to have the game on steam too, but you really got it backward as it was already accessible quite a while before it even considered steam).
Please raise a hand if you preffer to have more accounts to create and keep in sync with your emails & password managers, as well as cross device password management.
