building first Foundry on Vulcan - water from where?
as title need water for the refined concrete but where can i get it? do you have to ship in ice from a space station? or is there a better way

You can turn steam into water.

just found it - somehow acid steam doesn't become acid again if you cool it down... well it works i guess

the somehow is the recipe uses calcite, so I guess the game's logic is that's acting as a base neutralizing the acid

Funny enough, space supply of ice is the best way. ))
I mean, you can transform 500C steam into water, but for me it feels like beating a nail with microscope. 30k km of travel from Vulcanus to Nauvis and back will give you giant amount of ice even with basic asteroid tech. 2 Platforms with 2-3k ice brick is more than enough to supply your Vulcanus needs.
But sure, local steam transformation is more convenient. ) You may use it as is.

Absurd. Acid neutralization from a single chem plant produces 2000 steam per second from the nearly infinite stores of sulfuric acid and calcite, which in turn can supply two chem plants condensing it to water at 180/s between the two. Ice melting does it at a comparatively meager 20/s. Don't waste your platform's time dropping ice to Vulcanus.

And you'd still need chemical plants to melt the ice anyway.

Devs need to patch it so ice dropped to Wormulon melts because haha no ice for you.

Dropping ice from orbit is a waste when
The amount of water you can get out of steam is insane.
You're missing out on figuring out the Vulcanus specific processes.

For someone who has just arrived on Vulcanus for the first time it is not immediately obvious that the supply of calcite is 'nearly infinite'. (Acid, yes.)

It's also not immediately obvious that you can throw the neutralized steam straight into a turbine and not use it just for water condensation. My first time on Vulcanus I condensed the steam then boiled it again in a boiler for conventional steam engine power lmao
