Doesn't each game have its own set of per-game achievements? It should be permanently locked in Steam though.

It worked fine unless you are reading the achievement wrong. You have to go to another planet and complete any research requiring metallurgic, electromagnetic, or agriculture science pack. The space science does not count if DLC is enabled.

I have the same annoyance. I have done all achievements according to steam. Also, on one of my Space Age saves all achievements are ticked in-game as I did complete 'embargo' there. Yet, if I start a new game "logistic network embargo" is still shows as incomplete.

Same for me, I got the achievement in spage age, started a new game and it is not there anymore in the achievement list. Going back to the other save, it is listed as 'achieved'.

Just what it is, a game save and steam profile can have different sets of achievements. It is more apparent if you use mods, but even without them there seem to be a couple of outliers(seem to be achievements that have different requirements with SA or without).

If it's a bug or not I can't say 100%, but to me it appears to be intentional design.

There is a difference between modded and non-modded but that's it.
achievements are game-wide. Always has been. The only achievement where it is not working is the logistiscs embargo, on the factorio forums is a discussion as well. Hopefully the fix it.

Are there any achievements you can earn in the base game which cannot be earned in Space Age? I'm no expert, but I don't recall any which are. There are, of course, plenty for SA only, but none struck me as non-SA only.

I think it might have been a less than ideal choice to make the same named achievement have two different requirements in the two versions of the game. I understand the difference in the two requirements, and probably why they did that. It just seems that doing so makes more problems, in the code and in 'translating' the meaning of the achievement when looking at the stats on achievements. The latter is nearly pointless anyway, but it should still be solid as to what an achievement represents.

Making two different ones, one for the base game and one for SA would, however, preclude any such thing as a 100% run. You can still get a perfect game, since that's collected over multiple games if needed, but the 100% requires all in one playthrough, which a split wouldn't allow.

We'll have to see what they do with the issue, I guess. Probably just 'fix' the code. Too late to mess up existing scores.
