Just B by itself opens the blueprint library
You can also bundle these things into books. Pressing 'b' can open up your blueprint storage which is account wide and may feature blueprints that were used in the game, which is specially useful in multiplayer.
Until you get access to construction bots the feature will mostly serve as a guideline or placeholder though there's still other uses such as copying over settings (which can be done on a per-building basis by right clicking the source then shift clicking the target). Blueprints' contents can be edited.
also i need tricks to this game since I'm so not optimizing. mostly the treadmill. say a treadmill is transporting stone and coal but I at some point i want to split the stone (i do have the splitter).
Don't put multiple items onto the same belt unless you really have to.
ctrl-c to enter *copy mode*, (or alt + b if you no need just copy and paste but save this for future as blueprint), hold mouse and select what you wanna copy - you got entities under cursor.
Click where you need them, or click to hotbar to save it as blueprint (its pretty helpture if you need replace or move some entities)
Here are some simple gifs for factory design

What do you mean? The copy paste works great in my oppinion. Sure, you do need construction robots to get that part up and running, but once you have that you can really start to scale up. I'd say this is a requirement before going off planet too so that you can have robots work for you remotely when you are off planet.
Well, Ctrl-C, and then you can drag a box around what you want to copy and then place it with the mouse as many times as you like. Now, if you don't have robots then you will only get ghosts placed on the ground (you will if you have robots too, but then the robots will come flying with the require material assuming you have them in storage).

top left: iron plate. to be converted to pipe and gear
bottom left: engine. it will need the converted iron plate from top left. steel is "free" at the bottom.
problem: i can't seem to get it to work. the pipe will always clog at the middle right.
