Remove shadows of chest, machines, poles etc. & disable day-night-cycle?
I disabled everything in the graphic settings: The picture got a lot clearer and better for me. I I see that boxes, machines, trees, power poles, player, belts, etc. still cast shadows.
==> Is it possible to remove them as well, somehow?

Also I'd like to remove the day - night - cycle for maximum concentration. Glad for any tips how to achieve these things.

There are lots of mods available. I would look through the list of mods to see if you can find one that does what you are looking for.. The day night cycle is important for solar panels to function. There might be a mod to make it always day and for 1.1 there was a mod to make night brighter or darker. It may not have been updated for Space Age though.
I searched the mods, I searched the settings. In almost every 3D game it is possible to remove shadows. In Factorio it isn't.

On overstimulated days I normally just remove music and shadows in games. Instantly the picture gets much clearer, with just the half number of objects to look at. A bummer that Factorio doesn't let me do that.
im pretty sure that the shadows are baked in to the sprites themselves.
factorio isnt a 3d game, its a 2d game with pre baked 3d graphics. like the original donkey kong country games

Actually, the shadows are in their own sprite atlases, not baked in.

Sire?
It's not exactly what you're looking for, but the nightvision equipment might help. It's not too far down the tech tree.

I'm not sure why they're not toggleable if they're separate. Maybe they fade away at night time, but if that's the case I'm not sure why they don't add another check to see if shadows are disabled.

I supposed you could open the shadows in an image editor and make them all transparent, but that would be tedious and I'm not sure if it caches the images and how to re-cache them.
You can mod it with data.raw. Replace the shadow graphics with nil.

if you do that can you make it a mod ?

There is a majour difference between real-time rendering and pre-rendered raster graphics. So the shaders are handled through the 2nd dimension, thus making more difficult to manipulate every single graphic in that rendering realm.
