How exactly does Space Age work?
So I'm debating getting Space Age, but I'm kind of confused about how it works. I couldn't find a good answer via search so I thought I'd ask directly:

Do you essentially move from one planet to another and never go back to previous planets?

Or are you creating a network of resources where each planet has a role to play in a greater production? (sort of like Dyson Sphere Program, and Astroneer)

I'm asking because the prospect of achieving a goal, then moving on and starting over, then repeating isn't very appealing to me, and if that's how Space Age works I think I'd prefer just sticking to the base game.

But I do really like the idea of having to prepare for travel back and forth between planets to improve each base constantly and gather up important resources to take back to my "main" base.

Thanks in advance!

Basically making a network of planets, basically distant train stops, to share resources and work together.
For me, each planet existed to produce its science and whatever custom buildings could only be made there. You can launch a ton of supplies to each planet to get setup there with the basics.

Each planet has its own challenges you need to adjust to, and use, to be successful.

Thanks for the response! That's nice to hear, I was worried that you were sort of leaving behind your previous work to go solve a new problem before moving on and doing that again, but it sounds like it all works together.

Like all roads lead to Rome all new Space Age resources eventually reach Nauvis (unless your purposely gimp yourself). You don't have to return to the previous planets unless you want to. You now have the option of using remote building on planets that have construction robots and you have configured for remote building. You could even build every thing on planets you have been on from a space platform without ever setting foot on any of the planets again if you wanted to. Lots of available options.
