Mod Portal not accessible in game

I have the problem that I often can't access the mod portal, it's not accessible in the game...but my internet connection is good,

Mod updates work without problems

it works relatively rarely, what could be wrong?

I play version 2.0 without Space Age

With the error code/message, there would be ways to tell at least where the problem is.
Without anything, it is hard to tell since it could be anything from server issues to problems on your end.

Error 429 means "too many requests".
It means that the servers cut the connection when too many requests are sent in a short period of time.
It is often linked to the usage of a VPN, since all requests from people using the same VPN have the same public IP, but it can also be the result of a DDoS attack that happened at the same time.

If you are not using a VPN, there is not much you can do about this other than maybe telling the devs that it happens, either on their forum or through the support e-mail found here (the page also has a link to their forum):

Such errors are usually very fleeting and temporary, a minute or two of wait should fix it in the vast majority of cases.
