Elevated Rail is Fun, how about an Elevated Bridge or Platform too
The elevated rail is a great addition to the game. Is it also possible to make an elevated bridge for earlier in the game when cars and tanks are used more often than spidertrons?

I think the ultimate extension of the "elevated" concept is an elevated platform so you could build the factorio vertically and start stacking production on top of each other. There is no reason factorio can't have 2D graphics but let you build in three dimensions.

What about the visual mess? Even with elevated rails, people are complaning about not being able to interact or click. If what you say were in the game, i can't see how u can interact? How about bots? How will u tell them to interact with lower floor but not upper floor? Good luck having tons of filtered destruction vs other planners. There will be so many both visual and interactability problems that i can not think of now. SO it is not a good suggestion.

Actually it would lead to a lot of complications.

How can you interact with the lower level, for example? How can you even see it if a higher platform covers it? The game was designed to be two dimensional. Glueing a third dimension to it won't work very well. You'd have to design it with that goal in mind from the start.

Satisfactory is a similar factory building game which does go in 3D. You might want to check it out if you really want to build a factory in 3D.

similar to the fadey foam? forgive me if Its the wrong foam, in cubic castles , when you step under a ceiling, you instantly see everything THROUGH your ceiling on your floor, would be fun. and yeah, pretty simple right?

You have access to elevated platforms. In Space Age they are called space platforms. They are essentially mobile factories. It takes rockets to build them to begin with but once they are harvesting materials delivering them to your planetary factory is free.
