Artillery shells
Is it better to bring the shells by ship or the ressources to build them offworld?

I think it would be better to ship the materials, as the shells still only stack to one. You can ship more shells in the form of component materials than you can the finished shells.

One rocket load of calcite, eight of tungsten plates, eight of explosives and ten of radars will make 500 shells, which is fifty rocket loads. So even if you ship all the ingredients, it's almost twice as efficient as shipping the finished items. And since the explosives and radars are likely to be makeable locally, and the calcite can be harvested in space, you only absolutely need to ship the tungsten plates, which is six times as efficient.

This is the type of logistics I really enjoy in the game. I even make a point out of trying to do as much locally as I can and only ship in the stuff that I absolutely need.

Now.... why oh why must green belts be constructed on Vulcanus?

You can always make them on the platform itself and then ship them down.

I export the raw calcite and tungsten plates from Vulcanus, and then let the other planet (Nauvis) produce the final shells using the rest of the locally sourced ingredients. One rocket load of tungsten plates (250 plates) can be turned into 62 artillery shells on a different planet. If you export the finished artillery shells instead, a single rocket can only hold 10 of them (~6 times more rocket launches).

Something about Vulcanus' higher atmospheric pressure, so turbo belts / foundries / big mining drills can only be crafted on that planet, but can then be exported to other planets. Fulgora's higher magnetic field is the reason its special building can on be crafted on that planet...

Ironically except electromagnetic science all the rest can be made anywhere else. Holminium, supercapacitors and superconductors don't need to be actually made on Fulgora. Not sure if oversight or not. So you can just export all the holmium ore somewhere else i guess.

You can basically just ignore the whole Fulgora production chain. Do stuff anywhere else and just drop some accumulators and supercapacitors and do minimum needed for science production. You would basically need only ice, rocks, some holmium ore and heavy oil to produce electromagnetic science packs.

Fairly sure that electromagnetic plants and recyclers can only be crafted on Fulgora (same with the lightning collectors, but they aren't usable on other planets anyway).

Yes, they are only crafted there, but most of the production chain is not.
