Aquilo Island Power
What is the best way to get power on distant islands on Aquilo? I tried importing rocket fuel from the main island to fuel the generators, but to make water for the steam generators I end up with excess Ammonia, even when making ice platforms to Recycle.

I feel like I'm missing something right in front of me. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

A bridge of ice platforms, or, more realistically, 4 per Big Electric Pole.

I brought in crude oil and set up the full ammonia-rocket fuel production chain on the satellite islands. The train is a 2 car. One car is for brine/fluorine, and the other is for bringing in the oil. The uses enough ammonia to truck along, and since all I'm running there are pumpjacks the water is used very slowly.
The main problem of you is excess Ammonia.
You should consider how to use it first.
Use much more power or make more science packs.
If you just landing on Aquilo, you can drop ice from your ships.

Nuclear power is the easiest once set up and the most efficient overall. Just use pylons from the main island and keep expanding power there, that's what I do

Solar is there to run a ice to water plant for if the power ever goes out

excess amonia into rocket fuel which is then dumped into heating towers for turbines.

Thanks everyone for the tips. Looks like large pylons from the main island look to be the best answer. It is probably the simplest overall instead of trying to set up complex crafting on every single island.

I wonder if that is what is intended since creating Fusion power is first attainable on Aquilo?

Intent is tough to judge. There are several strategies and imo they all are viable. I import oil and make fuel/power on site. Importing nuclear is also great. I don't particularly like merely using power poles, since you have to heat up everything anyway and you can use that for power, but it is a strategy.
I'm lazy. Solar power is always my first choice.
Build a basic factory at beginning, 1 rocket fuel, 1 ice platform, 1 crusher for destroying ice, and 1 robot port.
Let robot pave the world and switch to solar system.
My 60MW solar farm on Aquilo.
