Why do construction bots move faster than logistic bots?
This never made sense to me.

Surely the logistic robot should be faster as it's job is more reliant on moving things between points...

Perhaps its because construction bots are only carrying one item at a time, wheras logistic bots can carry many items at at time depending on your level of research.

This isn't Age of Empires where villagers need to hit a castle for 5min to build it - both types of bots just pick up items from logistic chests and then deliver them to their destination.

This is the factory forums not age of empires

It was a design decision by the devs. If I had to hazard a guess its to let construction bots go repair in dangerous places and get back out again before they get destroyed. It may also be to let building blue prints happen a bit faster.

Why do they need to be the aame speed? Its not like there is a requirement for both logi and const bots at a 1:1 ratio. For example, building a furnace that is in a checst, requires 1 construction bot and 0 logibots.

Deconstructing 4 furnaces into a chest takes 4 construction bots. Potentially after that 1 logibot needs to move it to a different chest, but the travel paths (and times) are unrelated.

Logistic bot can carry more than one items although.

They can both carry a max of 4, i assume its something to do with using red/green chips.

I don't think it has anything to do with ratios of construction to logistic bots.

Construction bots can carry 4 items like logistics bots, but they only do that for tiles and repair kits

Logistic bots are more expensive too, but moves slower?

More stuff to carry => Heavier => slower movement

Okay but they can carry the same amount of stuff and move at different speeds so what's your point?

Moving faster isn't always an advantage. Both type robots only hold 1.5 Mj of power so if they move faster they have to recharge more often. You also don't have to manipulate logisitic bots. Just set up the requesters and the providers and forget about them. They will move stuff around faster than you can use it anyway and if they don't just add more bots and more roboports.
