Also using remove drive with a personal roboport is great if you’re on another planet and need to expand or patch up a bit of defense outside of the logistic network
Will definitely keep that in mind for later, thanks.
Later: oh right, the tank. But I already walled off my Nauvis base without the biters putting up a fight. There's no point now.
Even later: wow, playing cat and mouse with multiple enemies with massive HP was rough, I should look and see how much damage all my ammo is doing to see what would be effective. Oh wow, cannon shell does massive damage. Oh tanks! A tank would have been nice half an hour ago....
In that same vein:
combat robots, even the basic ones, are ridiculously good now.
Just a piddly stack of 10 of them can make the difference between wiping out a nest on foot, or the nest wiping you out.
Take a stack of 20 of them, and they'll absolutely mince-meat the opposition without you even having to raise your personal weapons.
There is also the big buff to piercing shells. In 1.1 they were clearly a weaker choice than explosive shells; there was hardly any point bothering to make and carry them. But in 2.0 they are quite impressive: I've already had a few 'trick shots' that destroyed a line of three worms/spawners in one go.
The defenders were already good in 1.1, especially with some of levels of damage tech, and I don't think they have been further buffed.
The higher level ones have modest buffs in 2.0. I haven't tried them yet, but am sceptical whether the improvement is enough to make them cost effective.
