Where do i put the guns on my space platform?
Am i supposed to put them only at the front or literally everywhere?

More to the front if the platform is intended to move, all round defence is required though.

So far (I've only been to Vulcanus after Nauvis) mainly front, but you need a few on the side as well. I've not needed any on the back (engine side) yet.

Basically Nauvis is safe, only tiny asteroids that don't need shooting (they can be collected), so if a platform is fixed (no engines), you don't need any turrets above Nauvis.

But when you travel, you'll get larger asteroids coming from the front (you are basically flying into them). Some do travel a little sideways, so a few turrets on the side can be useful.

Once I got to Vulcanus, there are still the larger asteroids floating around to deal with in orbit, although not that many, but some of these do roll in from the side.

So far I've never had any come in from the back.

Tip: Make sure you have some repair packs just in case!

Have you had them from the back yet? So far never had this happen to me, but I've only been to Vulcanus so far.

I have every so often one hitting my engines in the back. However it looks like the damage they do is dependent on their speed, the engines lose <1/4 of their health when that happens. I didn’t bother adding turrets in the back as repair packs do the trick.

They don't spawn in your back (haven't seen it atleast), but it is the angle from all the other sides, where they might travel through a dead angle and hit the engine.

Good to know, I always have repair packs, so looks like it's not really worth the effort to add turrets directly to the back, although I have been placing them on the lower left and right corners, so the back still gets a little coverage on the edges.

My transport ship currently in orbit of Fulgora has taken some damage from the back.
There is a few medium asteroids, most get taken down by front and side turrets but once every hour, I get a notification of taking damage on thrusters.

Good to know they can be repaired.

It's also worth keeping a few spares on the ship, turrets, belts, etc just in case :-)
How do I know which direction will be the front? Do I only need to put thrusters on one side and the opposite is the front?

AFAIK there's only one direction you can put the thrusters. And "up" is always forward in space, AFAIK
Ah, I see, thank you. The thruster can only be put in the "south".

I only use side and rear guns for my Aquilo and Deep space platform, the rest of the platforms can just tank the side strikes when they are stationary.

I'd suggest adding a "ship repair" logistic order to your platforms that has repair packs, turrets and asteroid gatherers just to cover the rare strikes that are enough to break something. i've never had to manually repair a platform yet.
Since we are talking about ships here, bow turrets up front, stern turrets at the rear, and waist turrets on the sides.

Useless info. I was bored, please forgive me.

You don't need any stern turrets, though you should have some of the waist turrets far enough astern to cover minor cases of low-angle approaches. The waist turrets should also be away from the gunwale. Their range easily exceeds the range of the grapplers and will waste munitions on non-threatening and unrecoverable inbound targets.
