How to repair buildings on the space platforms?

Hey all,
I'm having a blast exploring all the new things in the expansion and 2.0, but this is the first thing I encountered that I really don't want to just duck around with until I accidentally figure it out. I have some damaged buildings on one of my space platforms. Since there are no robots in space, I assume they won't be repaired the usual automated way. So how does one do it? Can I just send some repair kits to the platform and it will magically mend itself using the repair packs in it's inventory?
