Orbital drop part of stack

Is it possible to drop just 1 item from orbit? Shift-click and ctrl-click drops entire stack. Lets say I've got 30 solar panels and want to drop 5 and leave 25 in platform's inventory, am I missing some key to do it, or is it on purpose impossible?

Of course I could place those 25 panels, drop remaining 5, then re-arrange the platform back.

Make a request for one of the item from the cargo bay on the surface and only 1 will drop. i have not found a way to do it from the platform itself.
