Military Science pack on Fulgora

Planning to use Fulgora as my main research hub because of how much easier it is to get some of the high-tier materials, but realized there's one material I haven't been able to figure out: How do you get Coal? I assumed you'd be able to recycle Plastic bars but that doesn't seem to work, is there any way to get coal for the grenade for the military science pack, or do you need to fly those in from offworld?

I think volcanus is perfect for it science + purple science, because you can forge iron/steel/sticks, beside all the stone by product you can use in rails.

and I think in fulgora you can do it science + yellow .... yellow stuff are basically scattered on the ground.

you can easily send volcanus + fulgora specific crafting machines to your home base in order to upgrade your production. put in mind the "better" research lap can only be on Nauvis.

If you are going to ship grenades, at that point just ship military science.

Depends on what you mean by "offworld". I dont think there is any way to get coal on Fulgora itself. However, if you want to avoid shipping it from another planet, you could use asteroids. To do this, you would set up a space platform above Fulgora with the sole purpose of collecting carbon asteroids. You extract the carbon from them, and then send them down to Fulgora. You then use the coal synthesis recipe in a chem plant (1 sulfur + 5 carbon + 10 water = 1 coal) to create coal on Fulgora.

All of this would require a lot of water though (mainly to make the sulfur), and I doubt you would be able to find enough ice on Fulgora to make it worthwhile. You could also have the carbon-collecting space platform collect ice asteroids as well, and send the ice down to Fulgora for additional water.

Like NGMZerox said, you are probably better off making mil sci on another world and shipping it to Fulgora.

It's rather pointless to research on any other planet than Nauvis because the bio labs are only available on it. So the 50% flask drain is worth shipping all items there. It's so good.

You need the coal synthesis recipe. Which takes military science.
