How to land in new planet ?

So, I got the base platform and traveled to Gleba. I sent some pods down to the surface and how they are unclaimed items just laying on the floor. I'm unable to select them and I'm confused on what I'm supposed to do.
Anyone?

Check by clicking on the platform itself and find the button to land yourself? Should be there from what I understand.

Ok, I did that but now there's pods laying on the planet surface. I am not able to pick anything up and can't build anything? I sent a cargo landing pad but it still in a pod, I queued up the build with the ghost and nothing is happening. I'm confusion

yea, on the planet surface. The station is stopped at gleba. So, how do I start building on the planet?

Hmmm, I would've thought you should be able to open the drop pods with items. Unfortunately I don't have Space Age and can't really help you troubleshoot much more. Hope someone else that know more can come and help you. Good luck.

Just to make sure we understand each other, your engineer is running around on the planet?
if not, on the space station there is a button below the minimap that reads "drop to a planet" with a symbol of your engineer.
If you're on the planet with the engineer and unable to interact with the itrems dropped from orbit, then i have no idea.

no, I got no engineer. Is there an issue with the new dlc and sandbox not working? Because originally that is how I was playing lol

I don't think many people know much about how it works with sandbox. But you should've mentioned that part to begin with, since most people won't be using that and will assume you're playing it with a character as is the normal way.

you're right, I forgot that sandbox isn't the norm. Been doing this run for a while and it just didn't occur to me til now. My bad

with sandbox mode no longer being a scenario you can choose, things might get wonky.
