How to escape Fulgora? (Minor spoilers)
Made it to Fulgora with a space platform that was destroyed almost immediately after getting there and now I've no idea how to get another space platform together, Fulgora has damaging asteroids in orbit constantly and getting the infrastructure you need to support a bunch of gun turrets into space in the ~10 seconds before the asteroids hit you seems impossible.

Do you have bots on Nauvis? If you do then you should be able to build a new space platform "remotely" and give it enough turrets and such to survive to bring you stuff to get you back off the planet.

The asteroids seem to chill out a bit after your platform is destroyed (though are definitely still a hazard). two silos can launch the starter pack, 4 turrets for each corner and enough ammo to make your foothold.

One thing that helps is that you can apparently manually load ammo into the turrets through the remote view, so you don't also need to be sending solar panels and inserters right away.

I then expanded to two turrets at each corner, with arms loading them, periodically launching ammo stacks while I worked on getting ammo production in orbit.

It's by far perfect ratios, but I have found 2 asteroid catchers/crushers set to just the iron asteroids, each feeding into 2 electric smelters each feeding into a factory seem to produce more than enough ammo to keep up with the passive asteroids floating around.

Going to start scaling it up soon for the voyage back, hopefully without getting destroyed this time.

I have some but not nearly enough to build a rocket remotely, I was rushing to the new content and didn't set up a super robust factory on Nauvis

Might be it's now a rogue-like experience and you'll have to restart with the new knowledge.
You don't have any saves from before you left Nauvis? (I recommend making explicit saves with some regularity, but also allowing more auto-saves as well)

So there are death spirals now. Good to know.

I scaled production up on Fulgora (fairly easy without biters/pollution / running out of power), built 6 rocket silos, got them all ready with two rockets each.

Two would have been enough, in retrospect, but I got panels / turrets / inserters / rare ammo / cargo pods / collectors / etc all up in the first 30 seconds.

All 3 planets have medium asteroids. I have put laser turrets only on my platform (I know) but I researched a bunch of upgrades for them. You need a nuclear reactor in your platform for laser turrets to be effective. Just remember to go back to the main planet some times to "refuel"

You don't need turrets to setup platform in asteroids. You just need some foundation and repair packs. Platform will auto repair itself if you have repair packs on board and it will replace destroyed foundation with spare ones. The smaller your platform the less chance that something will hit it in the first place. And if something hits, most of the time it will only damage the foundation instead of destroying it. The turrets will shoot ammo at anything that is not even close to hitting your platform, so a lot of it will be wasted. 100 repair packs will last you a lot longer than 100 bullets.

Just as a tip for you guys.

If you travel up to the space station, and then let it die, you will respawn back at Nauvis.

If you dont have the tech to actually rebuild, or if you just dont want to do that, like if its your first playthrough (like me)
You just need to prepare 2 rockets to get back to nauvis.
Launch space station, travel up there, send back excess space platforms, die, respawn at Nauvis.

Its not actually a death spiral in the character death sense.

I built up a space platform above Vulcanus after the one that got me there was destroyed. It's actually not too bad. After you send up the starter kit, send up a few turrets, inserters, a solar panel, and a stack of ammo, then send up some repair packs. That should keep it alive long enough for you to get basic ammo production going up there, and once that's done you can build up there at your leisure.

Easiest thing to do is build it above Nauvis remotely if possible of course, but sometimes need drives innovation.

This is why I always test my new platforms with a round trip before I board and travel somewhere.

By the way, the game autosaves whenever you send a platform to a planet for the first time.
