How broke are you people?

Like seriously? Why is there a million discussions lining up about how broke you people are for this game specifically, while AAA games will release 6 hours of content for $60-100 each season? Go play Roblox or something if you can't afford $30 for a DLC for a game that's been actively supported for a decade and was always a one time purchase. Or just quit gaming altogether if $30 is too much for you.

Edit: Yes I know some countries can't afford high-priced games. That is not an exclusive problem to Factorio. I'm originally from a poor country myself, if I was still residing there I would never be able to own as many steam games as I do now. Video games aren't a human right, they are a luxury. And why are you guys crying over a $35 DLC for an indie game that has thousands of hours of content when you should be complaining about the AAA games charging you $120 for release editions and $25 for a single skin in a completely unfinished, unfun mess. Why target the small indie studio who give you actual quality content for your buck when there's millions of games out there that are ACTUALLY predatory? It makes no sense. At all.

I know. It's just crazy how many entitled whiners there are in steam discussions now. Do they think devs are magical fairies who don't have to make money? This game's pricing is extemely generous for what you get.

On the internet, 5 - 10 people are enough to make an opinion seem "heavily discussed". This happens ever so often on twitter, where often a small number of accounts fabricate outrage over nothing. Bonus points when they are russion bots trying to sow discourse.

Not that this is the case here, obviously. But again here, it is a small handful of people posting about this, and it seems like a big thing. Fair. Discussions makes it seem bigger than it actually is.

Also Space Age is an OG game expansion as we had in the early 2000s.

People are arguing we should slap the price tag of a skin pack on it but it doesn't really make sense.
Imo apart from trolls the people which argue the DLC is too expensive have been messed up by today's video game industry practices.

I do have some perspective to share on this matter.

In my currency the base game is 700 baht(roughly 20$) and the dlc is also 700 baht. Bring the total cost to 1,400 baht (40$)

Now this is the part where I do not like. The game used to cost only 300 baht(9$) and I bought it then played it and don't think about it that much. Time passed I want to play again but now with friends the priced have gone up by a lot. 700 baht is not the price of something that people in my country can just buy and enjoy. It is now considerable investment, heck some people need to save money for it. With the new space age released to get full content it is now even more expensive.

With current price I who live in developing country is having a really hard time to share and invite my friend to try it. The current price is a really big wall.

Space Age is def worth it. This game has been getting constant updates over the years and this is their first actual DLC, with substantial contents.
Unlike other games such as Rimworld where the dev releases a DLC every year (which are really just add-ons that could be included in the base game) for the price of the base game or more.

Thats not the developers problem tho. They have costs based on their area. The problem is your place of living, improve your country.
