Save file location on Linux

Looking for the location of my save files on Pop OS, the wiki says it's in "~/.factorio" (no new saves since 2022 so this folder appears to no longer be in use?) or
"~/.var/app/com.valvesoftware.Steam/" which doesn't exist on my system.

Any ideas?

I use Ubuntu OS. The file structure should be similar.

The save game location is in "~/.factorio/saves".

Thanks, I found it in the end. I had "show hidden files" enabled in the file browser, but when you use the built in search, the new window had deselected "show hidden files" which is why nothing came up in the search. I found the files in the ./var folder

Interesting.

I created a new folder in ~/.factorio/saves/ to manage different mod saves. It showed up in-game while loading save games. I saved the new Space Age game in the new folder inside the saves location. It showed up while searching using the file browser.


I wonder why your saves were placed in var.

Regardless, I am glad you found them.
