in steam, go to properties, beta and select the older version.
You can also download the standalone version from factorio website and make a separate install
You download an update you're going to have to wait for the modders to update their mods my guy...
It's truly shocking.
A massive DLC came out and mods haven't updated for it yet, whoever would have expected such a thing to happen.
Also, getting into the weeds, in the industry using standard versioning methods, upon a major release (the number before the decimal point like 1.10 -> 2.0) you can assume it will break things. It is only minor version updates (after decimal point) that try to maintain as much backwards compatibility as possible.
You download the version you want to play on. Then in the options untick "update game".
You can then have multiple copies of the game, each running different mod lists, and none of them get broken by updates.
If you can't be helpful of kind, you don't have to share it.
I understand why Notch sold off Minecraft for stupid money and left the crybabies to their own doom.
even mods with the label "compatible with space age " will crash because the Quality part of the space age update.
but without it space age itself will crush because its a depentency ... so the dog is chasing his own tail
or they will simply not work because thy need another outdated mod
And even if you think it's a pointless post from someone you don't like (of which there are many on the internet), the solution is not to try and dunk on them from the peanut gallery.
At best you push that post back to the top. At worst you're scaring off people with better questions and making the forum a more hostile place.
p.s. As for the "crybabies" part... Minecraft is full of actual small children. We do need to be the adults in the room there.
As for mods needing to be updated, the number of already updated mods (in less than 24 hours) is not insignificant. Overall I have what I need in order to start a new game, either due to updated ones or other mods providing similar functionality. In fact in one case I even found an alternative, which ended up being closer to what I actually want, so I take that as a win. Give the mod creators a full week or (weekend, which ends up being the same) and updated mods will look a whole lot better.
The only issue I have is that the mod to unlock frame rate isn't updated so the game is stuck at 60 Hz. That's a bit of an eye strain, quite literally. Hopefully this will get updated in a not too distant future.
EDIT: This mod got updated between me checking last time and me posting this, so it seems the last part was already out of date when I posted it. This just shows how quickly the mods are getting updated.
