Lazy bastard
Is lazy bastard achievement still viable in space age freeplay world? asking for a friend.

Very probable.

I just got back into the game, starting with Lazy Bastard as I never got it and I don't see how it's possible.

EDIT: Assembling Machine 1 can now take 3 ingredients, totally still possible.

yeah - it's been that way for a while now - only restriction on assembler 1 (apart from speed) is that it cannot take fluids

and Lazy B is the way - i think you only need 101 crafts total - so you have a few spare to speed things up with some more furnaces at the start (and not needing to use your only furnace for the boiler)

I can't see that it would be broken, Once you craft your first oil refinery (which is before where space age mainly diverges from a vanilla game), you're essentially done hand crafting for the rest of the save. So it should be the same number of crafts as vanilla.

You can craft everything with assembler1. No need to handcraft a refinery anymore.

it has changed (was a while back) - now that assemblers have no item limit you can build a refinery in a tier 1 or tier 2 assembler - so once you have your first assembler you are done with mandatory hand crafts

Being both a fan of LB and also being eligible for it by default anyway, I was slightly worried that either it would change with SA enabled, or be impossible. Since the difference between SA and non is, mostly, just a fork in the road in the blue science tech range I was not expecting there to be any impact, and now that the game is afoot it seems that is correct.

One note, however, the absolute minimum was 103 crafts, in 1.1.110, which included using your one and only stone furnace to make the boiler and 104 was much more common, for minimalists, as the stone furnace is only 1 craft anyway. Whether or not you use the extra 8 crafts for another furnace or even a spare drill don't really matter. Once you have that first shiny new assembling machine you need to hand-craft nothing ever again in that game.

is weird - i'm at 102 - and that was with one extra so that i could keep my furnace

are you sure you're not thinking of the olden days when you needed to hand craft an oil refinery?

possibly they removed something that we used to need to craft?

or maybe some recipe is slightly lighter?

The 103 for 1.1.110 is correct. Just finished my 100% run at the end of June. Unfortunately I recall it well. Well enough to not repeat the process for the new 100% goals. I will soon be doing either 2.0 or SA and I will, as usual, watch the craft count. The difference will be found, by me if not someone else sooner. At a first guess I'd suspect one less iron gear wheel in one of the power machines or first assembler. They all had plenty to spare. 102, having kept the furnace, would be 104 and off by 2 suggests a pair of gears or plates. The recipe for the pole was only 2 crafts go begin with and the circuits are an odd setup with 3 needed for every odd number and 2 more for the following even numbers. Everything else is multiple crafts.
lazy bastard is the only way i play! i dont play to craft things lol

I only hand craft enough to make a crafting machine, I only place enough machines to make placing machines and I only carry enough to make carrying machines. Factories, bots and trains do the work, I do the planning.

is almost definitely 101 for Space Age (probably 2.0 as well) - since like i say i am at 102 - and i used just an extra furnace - and yes i recall thinking it seemed a little low

they must have changed a recipe - i shall investigate - but is likely gonna be a single gear for the assembler or the steam engine i expect - can only be for something we just make one or two of, since is just two crafts

even this is a nice little puzzle lol

By your report it is exactly two crafts.
Check the offshore pump:
1.1.110: (7 craft)
1 gear
2 circuit
3 wire craft
1 pipe
2.0: (5 craft)
2 gear
3 pipe
