There is also no way to get a steam key for a GoG purchase as far as I know (which makes sense since they are competitors in the first place).

I linked my profile on the factorio.com to my steam account and promptly was able to get a steam key for the base game.
Then I bought Space Age (also via website) and entered the upgrade code and now received a steam key for it as well.
It even kept my savegames and mods (albeit they are probably mostly broken now, since 2.0 hit)
