plus manually deleting the ghosts is also far more annoying that just being able to drag the deconstruction planner over a wide area and delete every ghost in one go (and then you do it again with shift or whatever the modifier key is to cancel deconstruction - so that stuff doesn't get deconstructed once you do build some bots)
so it appears that i haven't actually lost the ability to create blueprints in my game - i was just looking at the toolbar where it was disabled, rather than testing the keyboard shortcuts
and you are correct that ctrl-C and ctrl-X allow copy and cut (with Alt-B and Alt-D for the blueprint tool and deconstructor respectively)
but i don't know if those controls are enabled if the player has not unlocked blueprints for the first time on their install
so someone will have to confirm that
but yes - i didn't know about the clipboard controls - so that's cool - thanks :-)
Prior to that when I wanted to measure out things I had to use F4 and turn on the grid lines or use lines of chests or belts.
