Game crashing to desktop.
EDIT:

Revisiting the below previous post I made, with the following update: I did a lot of mod and system checking since then, and I think I've narrowed it down to a either a memory leak, or a sound card/driver issue.

The reason I think it could be a sound card issue, is that a second or so before my game CTD, there is n "buzz", or feedback sound on my speakers or headphones.

Why I think it could be a memory leak, is that I now limit my sessions to 90 mins at most, close the game and restart my PC. Since I've been doing this, I have not had a CTD for over a week. I read some old Steam and Reddit posts, that there was a memory leak issue a few years ago, but did not find anything recent.

Maybe someone can cast some light on this for me.
My full system specs is on my Steam profile.

Previous post below:

I've been getting quite a few CTD's in the past two or so hours, and I don't see any notes on the two updates I saw downloading, anyone know more?

Verified files twice already.

Edit: Getting worse, every 5 mins or so

Update: Shut down my game and Steam, re-started my PC, verified files again, and it seems to be running well again.

Dunno if your crashes are the same. If so, then good. If not, your best bet would be to open a new crash report on those forums (and attach your savefile and description of what you think is triggering the crashes).

EDIT: I dunno how to get these URLs working in Steam comments, just copy/paste it into your browser and it should work.

Which two updates? The update on Monday was the only one.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

I honestly don't know, I had one at 14:40 and another at 15:33 (UTC+2 where I am)

Thank you, it pointed me to Autosave, as 2 or 3 of my auto saves were corrupted after crashing. My Steam cloud is on, maybe I should turn it off, but will the game still auto save to my SSD then?

Turning Steam Cloud off is the way to go. No matter the bandwidth or connection quality, you'll be getting progressively more issues with it when save files get bigger.

WIth and without Steam cloud the saves are always made locally. The cloud will sometimes auto-erase, when it gets in the mood, however. Save files are only one issue. It's also been known to remove the achievements file or the blueprint library.

Sadly, you cannot. Steam's 'security' mangles the '&' and won't fix it on a click to follow the link. The other end, WUBE or otherwise, sees `&` and goes "Huh?". Copy/paste is the only way.

FYI, if your CTD is the same reported in the forums, looks like developers have fixed it and will release as part of upcoming 2.0.25 release (unknown ETA, but Wube are pretty fast).
