also in space everything gets built in ghost mode, because the player is never physically present, it just might look like you didnt use ghost mode because it gets built instantly sometimes, due to the buildings being available on the platform.
Actually you can exit the pod right before you enter the platform and physically run around and build in space.
And if you have mech armor you can take a space walk.
What bug?
Being able to move about in space was a bug. Though the engine supports it, for obvious reasons ( :: cough :: Space Exploration 2.0 :: cough :: ), the Space Age game logic was set up with the intent to make it impossible to do - because it didn't fit the game design that Wube had in mind for space platforms.
Did they have anything in mind while designing it? It's quite handy to be able to shoot asteroids while working on a platform that isn't in nauvis space because it constantly gets battered. Seems to me like the only thing they had in mind is to give the player something and then restrict them.
