Help: Fusion reactor in space
So i am setting up the fusion reactor for my eventual trip to the solar system edge and idk why but its just not working. I copy/paste the blueprint on aquilo and it works just fine but on my ship it just dont work...Can anyone help me out?>

One of those long inserter isn't far enough over to power the left reactor.
Also why is there a gap between them? They get a bonus for being next to each other.

Im trying anything to make it work. Its not the issue with the inserter i tested it out already, neither of the two reactors work

The setup seems fine, I would probably add some buffer tanks on the two coolant lines to prevent clogging (don’t fill them up as it can potentially stop the generator from working).

I would assume that you have some other power sources allowing the reactor to initiate fusion. Has the reactor made plasma?

If that’s the case, do your generators need to run? If you have enough alternative energy sources your plasma generators will not run.

The only thing i have is solar panel all over the place and some accumulators. I dont think the generators are working, the reactor turns on for 1 second when i place it but then it stops. Should i try a nuke reactor to get some more electricity to jump start the fusion reactor?

Looks like everything works as intended. The reactor makes the initial plasma but the generators do not consume it as there is no need for the to generate additional power. Just expand your platform and start adding things that use power. It will start running

smh...i spent hours trying to find the problem when the issue is with the game itself...Never would've realised that the reactor only runs when it requires power...

Well technically the reactor would always run if it could as it consumes power and produces plasma. However the generators only consume plasma to produce power if required, which leads to the generator to also stop as it has nowhere to send its newly produced plasma.

Really don't think that's an issue with the game itself.
Steam engines work the same way.

it is a good thing though. As fuel is not used unless you need it. Unlike nuclear, where refueling regularly is needed, even if you did not use the power.
