aquilo orbit?
i have a little problem with the platfrom over aquilo.
there are to many big asteroids.
so i constantly shoot at them and my rocket produktion can barrely keep up.
but i will never get enough rockets to make the trip back.

i cant upgrade the platfom because there are no resources on aquilo.

i tryed to disable the rocketturrets will the platform stand still. but even in slomow the gun turets cant kill the big asteroids.

is my only option realy to remotly build a new platform on nauvis to come and pic me up?

sugestions?

atm i would load my save bevor i got there but i realy dont want to do this again. :(
took ages to get the reacktor heatet enough to get power on this ice rock.

It is hard to answer your question without knowing how is your platform looks like.
But I don't have problem on my platform.

Yellow block is my rocket turrets. The others are gun turrets.
Rocket only target on big asteroids. Guns handle the else.
I keep 300 rockets & 300 red bullets on outer side of belts.
There are also 1k rockets & 1k red bullets backup in my hub.
Maximum speed of my platform is about 200km/s.
Belts are green with capacity lv2.

that is my ship a bit more chaotic then yours.
i have 450 rockets and ammo on the belt. and the hub will save 500 more of each.
the problem is not that i have to less rockets to stay in orbit. but i cant get a surplus to get back.
it took me more then 1000 rockets to get to aquilo. atm i have 450 rockets on the belt but nothing in the storage.
i i dont gete more because every rocket i build got instantly fired at the next asteroid.

edit. looked a bit more and it dont look good. if read the statistics corect i need 280 rockets every 10 minutes just to stay there. but i only can produce 180 in 10 minutes.

in other words this ship is doomed :(
You can save on rockets a bit by pulling the rocket towers away from the edge. While you still need them to break up the rocks early enough for your turrets to deal with it, you also want them to stop wasting shots on big asteroids that are going to miss the platform.

i cant upgrade the platfom because there are no resources on aquilo.
You have resources on ship. There are four assemblers not making rockets -- and maybe more sitting in your hub. Use them to make more rockets.

All those chemical plants set up to produce thruster fluids? The thrusters themselves? That's also space you repurpose to making more rockets. The solar panels too could be ripped up, assuming you're not critically low on nuclear fuel. Maybe even if you are.

You can always put it all back when you're ready to leave orbit. Make a blueprint before you rip it up.

Red ammo for your turrets is probably a luxury you can't afford. While you're parked in orbit, you surely don't need the concentration of firepower it offers, so switching over to the more efficient yellow ammo should free up a lot of space and resources you can repurpose for rocket production.

And there's always the option of making a new, better equipped platform in Nauvis orbit, and using it to bring resources up to Aquilo to save this platform.
so back to construktion?
i hoped it would not come to this. took me way to long to build this monster^^

recources are not the problem. just the space to fit in a second rocket asembler.
the power should also hold for a long time i have 50 fuelcells and the reaktor is wired to only take one if needed.

for the cargo the problem is i send everything down to aquilo to build there so it is nearly empty -.-

think i go back to bevor i startet and rebuild a bit. meh the 4th time :(

Never got there, yet, but can't you just send the platform back to 'normal' space and retrofit it? As long as you have what you need to survive on Aquilo for a while it won't matter if actual production stops. Especially if it hasn't really started anyway.

that is the hole point of this thret i cant go back. i dont have enough rockets to savly leave.
the station alone cant make the trip back.
Another idea: disable a bunch of the thrusters. The asteroid "production rate" is based on your thrust/speed, so the idea is to fly slower so your ammo production can have a chance to keep up with the incoming asteroid rate.

Even at a super slow speed at first, is the trip more dangerous than the parking orbit it's in now. As you get further from Aquilo don't the asteroids get less dangerous? More like sneaking out of orbit than running.

This is only theory. I've yet to build a platform, let alone fly one. Random thoughts which might trigger a solution.
That one rocket assembler won't cover the demand, that's the main problem. My platform has two and I can confirm that that is enough to stay in Aquilo orbit and have rocket surplus (at explosives tech 9, that is). Repurpose one of the ammo assemblers for rockets and you should be good.

By the way, think about how much covering area by the turrets you actually need, especially at the sides. By sticking a turret into every corner you cover quite a lot of area around the ship that doesn't need to be defended (especially during flight where the asteroids come pretty much only from the front) - and that's basically ammo and resources wasted. The sweet spot I found here is to cover just the area that your side grabbers can reach. The rest just flies by you and isn't dangerous (and also isn't useful because the grabbers can't grab the shards anyway, they're out of reach). This applies to the rocket launchers too - they have a very large circle so on a ship this size, they pretty much only need to be in the center.
You could remove all but one thruster, seems like you'd have enough pipes to connect the middle one.
Going slower makes it a lot easier for the ammo to keep up, then you might even cut thrust entirely for a bit if you get overwhelmed.
It's at least worth a try before reloading to an old save.

Alternatively doing more explosive damage research so you need fewer rockets per asteroid can also help, but that's probably too long term right now unless you're close to a break point of needing one fewer rockets per asteroid ( was it 12 and 24 explosive damage? i don't remember)
Alternatively, circle the wagons, (salvage what you can and place it in planetary storage before the hub gets hit). Send the SOS back home and wait for the cavalry.

this goes especially if you just want to make it home, remove the rocket launchers on the sides because during flight it's all about the forward facing firepower. Might go as far as only keeping the two middle turrets in the front seeing how rate of fire is not your bottleneck.
Just slap speed module on the rocket assembler, it's not that you are lacking resources or anything, just space and versatility. You have belts running next to your hub when you should have assemblers with at least 2 spaces for inserters to use to build whatever using items from the hub.
I see lava on your ship.
It means that you can produce stones.
Unload stone, iron, copper, coal to ground.
There are crude oil on Aquilo.
You have ability to make rocket silo.
But territory is really limited on Aquilo without foundations.
It will be a tough job to make low density structure, blue chips based on what you have.
More serious problem is that you can not do it slowly.
Your nuclear reactor will lose power.
I guess that you need hundred hours to fulfill all requirement of launching a rocket.

I found that two are not enough for Aquilo trips, but three are. But since they don't overkill (they don't launch unnecessary rockets), the number of launchers actually doesn't matter. All that matters is the coverage and keeping the ammo demand supplied.
