[Space Age] Can't rename trains anymore?

Is this a Space Age thing? I remember being able to rename trains but it seems that option just got removed entirely for some reason.

It is new to me, that you could rename trains at all. Are you sure it was not a mod thingy?

Renaming of train stops in the top left is a normal thing. Renaming of trains is not built in to the game. They are assigned names from a list of early backers and contributors. I believe there was a mod for 1.1 which added that ability, and it may get an update for 2.0.
Roboports, radars, labs and train stops are also named from that list, and only the train stops can be renamed (rather important for the rail network design).

It may not get updated to 2.0 but the 1.1 mod for renaming all the things with backer names is https://mods.factorio.com/mod/Renamer

I create logistic groups, and assign each train (or space platform) to the correct logistics group, and the train takes on that group's name. If you want a unique name, I guess just create a logistics group with the name you want and assign only one train to it...
