random bugs just wandering around in the middle of my base?

So my base on the starter planet has grown very large and on 2 occasions I've run into a single bug just wandering around the middle of my base not attacking anything. Do bugs just spawn around your structures when the pollution gets high enough?

do you have egg production? Or do you have a mod that adds all items in a chest, one of those infinity chest mods? Because it will also include biters eggs in those chests

eggs decay into biters, so if you produce/store any, this will happen.

It's the starting planet. I don't have eggs.

Biters don't attack indiscriminately. If they are are marching towards a target or marching towards an expansion, AFAIK they won't bother with other structures they can pass by. They will attack if their movement is obstructed, though.

If it already destroyed something, they sometimes do weird things like stop attacking and enjoy the view for awhile.
