Struggling with water on fulgora
Is there any other way to get more water besides using the ice produced on the planet?
Should I be importing ice somehow?

I have a mining station dropping ice. I usually have too much ice and end up recycling some of it away.

I might just be cracking to much stuff?

I use the ship that goes from Nauvis to fulgora for that, when its manufacturing ammo on Nauvis, before departing, it also gathers ice, when it arrives to Fulgora it drops the ice and picks up science.

I didn't have any ice/water shortages on fulgora. You can always get more water from ice by setting up additional scrap recyclers. If you don't want to deal with the other stuff you get from that additional scrap, just throw it into a loop of recyclers to get rid of it.

I was trying to avoid that but just seems like a necessity now!

If you're only using water for Holmium processing and a little bit for heavy oil cracking, you'll probably find that the supply from recycling is sufficient. Because of the random nature of recycling you might need a bit of a buffer of water to account for occasional shortages, but that's not a huge problem. Most likely you're consuming too much - Either overdoing it on cracking or using it up for steam engines/turbines. Steam isn't really useful for power once you've got a few lightning rods and enough accumulators, and as a means of eating up solid fuel, you're probably better off just feeding the fuel in to recyclers to destroy it.

There isn't much need for cracking on fulgora imho. The only cracking you really need to do is a bit of heavy to light oil for rocket fuel. Petroleum isn't needed at all on fulgora, you can easily get all the plastic you need from recycling red chips.

I used water for heavy to light, then light to petro, also for sulfur but can't remember why i did that, Maybe i was experimenting to play with steam but there's no point, i did turn all my machines ona t once and had 4 tanks for each fluid so probably used it all up in 1 go

Well I have too much because of dropping ice from space. I tend to go through periods of low ice and too much depending on how much I'm sending out of fulgora without dropping ice. Since I started dropping I'm pretty much well stocked always. I have multiple buffer chests with ice for the heavy use periods and requester chests full for the ice melters.

I currently have 6 active provider chests setup with ice, but I think the problem was using every last bit when initially filling up light and petro tanks

I created a ship at Nauvis, flew it to Fulgora and converted it to an ice factory. But after I got my base running on Fulgora I ended up getting so much ice from recycling scrap that I ended up having to recycle it to nothing by the 10s of thousands.

Use productivity modules everywhere and constantly process a bare minimum amount of scrap per second.
A platform can help.

What's the point in producing less scrap? there's millions of the stuff
Lambas 20. nov. 2024 kl. 17.11
I don't think 'process a bare minimum amount of scrap' means what you think it means. Here's another way of saying it: scale up your scrap mining and processing to the point where your desired ice/second is at the very least uncomfortably satisfied, though comfortably satisfied is preferable due to the volatility inherent in the process.

Cracking oil to get sulfuric acid to make more batteries, to make more accumulators, to feed science.... this is something that makes absolute sense on fulgora considering how many batteries actually come out of recyclers.

Yes, i've done this, and yes, it needs productivity mods or you'll run yourself out of ice.
