Fulgora "plants" grow?

I'd not be surprised if I'm just being paranoid atm, but I swear I've cleared all the reckoned area from fulgorite "trees", but after some time I'm seeing red placers of those in the area again! This begs for 2 questions:
- Am I being paranoid, or do they really grow anew after some time.
- If they do grow, can they actually be cultivated?

FIrst: fulgorite is not flora, it's the remains of a lightning striking ground - melted then solidified sand and soil. It occurs in reality and that's what those objects represent in-game.

Second: I am pretty sure they are a one-time spawn on chunk generation, but if they were to respawn I'd monitor areas unprotected by lightning collectors for reappearing fulgorite.
