demolishers suck dude.
Was hoping they would be some kind of cool bossfight we'd have to do to expand but in reality... You fight them once in a lifetime and when you do you either completely annihilate them in 5 seconds or you get cooked immediately because uh oh turns out even URANIUM DAMN CANNON SHELLS are not enough for the medum demolishers. I mean, they do dwindle their hp down but it takes too much time and the tank just doesn't live that long. I tried turrets with red ammo and that absolutely didn't work either. And other than that i can't use anything else because someone thought it would be funny if those worms were basically immune to anything but bullets (and poison. lmao.). I hate those worms. Just let us duel them with a rocket launcher like that poor guy in the main menu screen.

Turns out, there's an infinite physical weapons damage research option, with resources that you have infinite access to on Vulcanus...

They only have 20/20% electric resistance, and the tesla gun would arc through multiple of their body segments compensating for that small amount of resistance with essentially x5 damage.

everything can be solved with more and more turrets just make a giant field of turrets if you have no tesla for the medium for the big worms i dont know have not fought one yet...

Get yourself up to 9 or 10x weapons damage research so your shells are doing 10k a pop and go shoot em' in the butt. You can delete small and medium worms with just a tank and uranium shells (non-explosive uranium, they have a resistance buff to explosive).

For Small and Medium Demolishers, I used a grid of 10x15 gun turrets with red ammo and 8+ physical damage research. Small Demolishers will destroy a couple turrets before going down, whereas Medium Demolishers will destroy about 1/3 of the turrets.

For Large Demolishers, I put some railguns behind the turret blob. And that did the trick.

never attack their head, always go for the tail, they only do their fissure-thingy to stuff in front of them.
i like to stamp down multiple sets of teslatowers behind the worms, easy kills all around.
destroyer-drones work aswell, but you need like 100+ and good electric damage upgrades to kill medium worms. dont even want to think about the large ones.
better go with the tesla towers, they have a way higher base damage and thus work wonders.

If you want to brute force the big tanky thing you need to get serious about the "brute" part.

I thought they were badly designed because demolishers were an absolute joke.
1 or 3 nuke rockets to the head and kaboom.

Can't ship nukes to orbit you say? Well, you can automate the shipping of the resources and assemble in space. Everything is a factory if you are determined. =P

Vulcanus is 1000 times easier than Nauvis if you don't go there naked.
Sure, the oil/plastics production is bulky and annoying but not difficult. I was simply not expecting to have 20+ refineries in one spot.

Now STARTING on Vulcanus? I can see how that would be very rough.

Umm, what is your point? You want them be immune to nukes as well for them to not be annihilated in 5 seconds? Bury underground and emerge from there in the middle of the base destroying everything with sonic blast? They are like any other enemy - you find a way to deal with it and it's no longer a threat, just a routine obstacle which is removed if needed.
Uranium supply from Nauvis (the fact that there is no way to deal with them without outer support) is good enough reason to consider them as formidable opponents. I like them as they are, not sure how much more complex should they be in players' opinions...
