seriously now
If a new player comes and sees that he seriously has to buy the basic game for the same price as the dlc before he can play spage age he won't buy it at all or pirate it (especially for a game that won't get any new content in the future).
and yes you're all so great with “BUT I ALREADY HAVE 100000 hours and it's totally worth it then”
yes but that doesn't make the 64€ any cheaper understand that finally
Stop with your dishonest rhetoric and faulty arguments.
Calling something an abandoned game when it isn't is just one of your numerous errors.
What are you talking about? Why would anybody need to buy the base game "again" to play space age? You buy the base game once, then if you want space age (which is an optional expansion), you buy that separately. And the developer is a business, not a charity. They don't owe you a discount.
It’s not the developers being “greedy” when you are the one name calling someone because you want something cheaper. Go take a good hard look at yourself in the mirror.
Oh look, we haven't had one of these types of threads for ages now!!
Question is, do you really want to play this game? It's not something for everyone, because it scratches a certain itch, which some people are not interested in. I get, that it's probably not worth it, if you try it once for 10-20 hours and then move on.
If you are interested in this game, I would recommend to buy the base game first and then you can make up your mind, if the expansion is worth for you. The base game is better than ever with the new 2.0 features.
Never buy a 1.0 version of a game. With your logic, there is a high chance of it being abandoned. Wrong usage of words for trolling is low key effort. If you are serious, then it is sad.
I keep eyeing Satisfactory but there is no dakka. So sad.
I'd love to do some sort of analyse on people who are so hardcore about the pricing when (ya'll MUST be business owners or something lol), truly, the way that Factorio + Factorio Space Age pricing is different to about 99% of the titles out there. And when people are asking about it: WABAM this entire population comes alive to try to justify and shut down the correctly asked questions.
It's truly weird to me. It's the same people who, if rent consistently increased year after year (40% in 6 years) would just not even question it. It's fine that "they"stagnate your wages and boost line by line item on the entire planet. But hey: we should absolutely never question it.
I'm 100% not buying this xpac until my buddy and my brother and my son (who don't own a copy of Factorio) can buy the original for anything cheaper than it is now + Xpac. I've played Factorio for hundreds of hours and it's a gem. Totally agree. However Xpacs should not double the costs for brand new players.
Can you even imagine any other game? Let's pick on World of Warcraft. Imagine if they left all the xpacs exactly the same costs over the last 10 years and also the base game exactly 60 bucks as when it first came out? LOL - like: go on, justify that. Let me know.
Looking down my library here of hundreds and hundreds of games: I can't pin point even ONE GAME which left the pricing of the original game exactly the same as when an xpac was released.
People are 100000% right to ask about it. It actually is very greedy of this company. Like it or not. And people should continue to bring it up and ask questions about where their hard earned money is going. You should too.
EDIT:
Lets's extrapolate World of Warcraft:
Original game: lets' say 65 bucks
The Burning Crusade - 65
Wrath of the Lich King - 65
Cataclysm - 65
Mists of Pandaria - 65
Warlords of Draenor - 65
Legion - 65
Battle for Azeroth - 65
Shadowlands - 65
Dragonflight - 65
War From Within: 65 (confirmed just now: 65 CND)
Imagine? Someone never even trying WOW suddenly to catch up with their buddies have to shell out 710 CND??
That's the logic here with Factorio (45 CND) + Space Age (45 CND) = (90 CND)
So when Factorio DLC number 2 comes along then Factorio + Space Age + DLC2 unnamed etc??
It's weird to me that people are lining up to justify and defend this behaviour from a company. Good game or poor. Doesn't matter.
