Looking for an good space platform blueprint for hauling.
I have been tinkering a bit I suck at this game I am prepping to start aquilo and I would like my ships to not just randomly break while I am out and about need something that can just constantly transport science from my other planets.

You could probably fit a base in there to make more parts for it though lol - I think it could technically even make oil through an awkward process.
Carbonic Asteroids -> Carbon+Sulfur -> Coal -> Coal Liquefaction recipe. Just need a heavy oil barrel to get started. IIRC there's another recipe that doesn't need the jump start, but I forget.

As an aside, I was just reintroduced to the sulfuric acid -> steam recipe. I totally forgot that existed. Wonder how useful it is for powering space platforms? I guess it needs a lot to get started. Maybe it's not practical.

Huh yeah I never considered the sulfuric acid -> steam recipe outside of Volcanus.

Let's see, it's 10 steam per sulfuric acid which is then 100 steam per sulfur, 500 steam per iron plate and 5 steam per water, so 100 steam per ice. Might not be bad?

This also seems pretty reasonable on Gleba or Nauvis if you wanted more power once you can drop in calcite. A single chemical plant making acid can power 1/4 of a full steam production plant which would then make 500 steam/sec, a good amount more than a heating tower (or a nuclear plant without bonuses). And it really wouldn't take much sulfur or metal.

Of course if you've already set up nuclear that's better, but if you didn't bother before leaving Nauvis it is a lazy option.

And it might be nice to set up on Gleba as 'backup power' if you were concerned about the biological side of your factory breaking down, because it's pretty trivial to store an absurd amount of power as a little bit of sulfuric acid and some calcite.

you can't do acid neutralization in space btw

Yeah I eventually learned it's Volcanus only and was sad

~310 km/s max speed without engine wiring and it works fine.
For now is only build in the editor, some details may change
I designed it for a game with a friend and sice he doesn't play that often, ship is waiting to be built in the actual game. On my SP save i'm not at that stage yet.
I haven't tested how long it willl stay in orbit without a supplay of rockets in the hold.
If you want, I can give you a BP.
