Ship to ship logistics?
Is it an oversight that we can't build up supplies in a stationary storage platform to use as an interplanetary transfer hub? I get that the way the map works in space, you can't have multiple platforms on screen a the same time, but there should be a way to deploy items if multiple ships are in the same planetary orbit.

Actually this is a question i had, considering cargo pods we should be able for ship to ship logistics in local space. It's a complete waste to have to drop stuff on planet and then have to ferry it back up with the rockets.

as we are able to build selfsufficient platforms, it shouldnt matter, just let the platform request what it needs at the planet that provides it and fly around, if that is a bottleneck, just create another platform at the same route, at the other side, dropping and recollecting it with another platform (yes not efficient but i do that too) shouldnt matter as materials for rockets are endless available :)
so, there is no need to transfer stuff between platforms, even if you play the game like me, with a hub that distributes everything and at the end burns way more rocket materials than needed :D

it would be cool if possible, but its not a necessary mechanic and the game was designed with this "flaw" in mind.

This is just one of the ways that I think space platforms are over-restricted.

Another is not being able to use storage addons to add or remove items from the main inventory, apparently because it lets you move things instantly across large distances. ... Well, okay. It's not like the platform is *that* big anyhow. Just let us do it. Or at least provide a way to store things, like boxes.

I'd even be fine if storage addons didn't add to the main storage, but actually were just boxes, and you could put them anywhere.

I was actually thinking of a way for a stationary space platform to request and receive cargo like a cargo landing pad does.

That is, imho, the real answer. It is not a bug, an oversight, or an error. It is a design choice. One they even explained. We can decide it was a bad choice. Someone can make a mod, or several, to change it, yet in the base game it is part of the challenge for using the platforms. By design.
