How big is the map?
I read its a million tiles in each direction? What about the other planets? Are they equally vast? How far out have you gone and what was it like?

For real. It took him the better part of a month just to explore that tiny portion. Imagine 20,000,000 times that. Would be like 1.5-1.7 million years of exploring at that pace.

You will never, Literally ever, Explore the entire map. You could dedicate your entire life to it, and the lives of your children and grandchildren and their grandchildren's grandchildren, and a dozen more generations and still not be done if you explored at the pace Dosh did. We may never in the entire future of humanity have computers capable of loading the entire thing, nor of processing the game just existing on that scale even if you turned off biters.

Dosh said it was 14gb of ram just to load that 0.000005 slice. So it'd be 280~ million gb to load the entire thing. 280~+ PETAbytes of ram, assuming it scales forward linearly... And that's just the RAM requirement.

For all intensive purposes, the map will never be a limiting factor.

Not sure if you're making a joke with "intensive purposes" or just haven't seen "for all intents and purposes" before.

the pace was also already slowing down at that time. It is likely that you would have 1TB save going at 0.5UPS if you wanted to do it lol :D
