Developer is greedy and doesn't respect you.
Patch for a low development cost pixel game priced at 70 (35+35) dollars. Also "No sales" as policy is the height of arrogance. 35 dollars is more expensive than Phantom Liberty, and they had to pay Idris Elba as well as the salaries of thousands of employees so that their families could eat.

Factorio on the other hand has made 260 million in gross revenue, and was originally developed with 3 people, and has expanded to about 30. They're mostly splitting the 260 million gross revenue among the founders, I imagine.

Once they made that much they THEN decided to price the DLC at 35 dollars (70 dollars for the full game) even though the development cost for them is 1/100th or 1/1000th of AAA games.

The greedy practices of this developer have been going on long before they decided to release a 35 dollar patch with no sale though. Read the reviews on GOG.

Whining about great game that cost every dollar what asked for it, that's just funny.
I've put 164 hours into the expansion in the last 2 weeks

164hrs / 35$ = value of 4.69 $ per hour

this number will only continue to grow
just like my factory

You may want to recalculate that number as 35 / 100 is already 0.35.

I actually like the no sale policy. Other games I often wait to purchase until there is a decent sale price, this one good to purchase at any time. How often does someone buy a game then right outside the return policy it is for a lower price?

Btw value is completely subjective, if you dont find the value in this OP then dont buy it and move on with your life. Making a post whining about the price when clearly it is worth it to many many people is pointless. Are you expecting the devs to see this and go oh boy this one random internet troll is insulting our game and saying it's too expensive!! Lets do a sale!

The order you do the operation matters.
35/100 is 0.35
100/35 is 2.85

His math was correct; To get the expenditure per Hour you divide the hours by the dollars. 164/35.
so if i played 1000 hours, and i spent 10 dollars, i will have spent 100 per hour i played?
math aint mathing my friend, pretty sure you divide the dollar by the hours.

Factorio goes on sale every time it's value decreases. Which so far has been never.

Feel free to hold your breath while waiting for a sale though or feel free to waste your breath insulting the community you want to be a part of but seemingly can't afford to join.

But what do I know. I pay 70 dollars for "pixel" games.

Yup you devide the price by the hours spent. Gives you vaalue of hours per dollar.
so 35$/1 hour is 35$ per hour spent.
35$/100 hours would be .35 per hour.

Not sure why original was done backwards.

Sorry that your AAA DLC isn't entertaining enough to keep your attention.
I suggest you try Factorio by Wube Software.

Greed is immoral and should be discouraged. It's that simple.

So stop being greedy and give the developers their due.

I bought the DLC because I feel guilty playing the game too much but only paying a small price. I probably will feel guilty playing the f out of the DLC sometime in the future.

I don't have an issue with the game. I think it's a good product. I just think the price is greedy, and I think greed should be discouraged.
