Best self-sustaining turret for Gleba?
Because there's no coal on Gleba (afaik) rockets are not self-sustainable. regular turrets don't have enough range and are sometimes destroyed and laser turrets lack both range and damage even when upgraded.

What is the intended way to fight of Gleba's strongest enemies without having any of your structures destroyed after a large attack?

when you unlock rocket turrets it also gives you coal synthesis.
So you turn spoilage into carbon and then turn the carbon into coal to build rockets.
Ya know, just gleba things.

I mean, you can make carbon on Gleba from spoilage, and then turn carbon into coal. I don't remember what unlocks that recipe, it also costs a lot of carbon to make a piece of coal, but I am definitely producing coal and rockets on Gleba without importing anything for it.

Lasers (handles small mobs) + Rockets (Handles big ones) + Tesla (Chain hits and stuns the big guys)
Sadly, rockets fire too slow, by the time they fire, the medium sized stompers (plural) are already inside the walls and destroying the rocket turrets.

I got 9 rocket turrets, "stronger explosives 8" upgrade, about 30 laser towers and 10 machine gun towers with piercing ammo. Laser dmg upgrade is 9 and physical dmg also 9..

What else am I missing? Is it not possible without importing tesla turrets?

I am at 11 for physical and laser damage and am still only on Vulcanus... Then heading to Fulgora, and only after that to Gleba... It'll mean big enemies on Gleba but my damage researches by that time should do some significant lifting to more than make up the difference.

I think it all comes down to how you set up Nauvis before you go anywhere. I decided on 10 red/12 green science and have scaled all the other sciences with that. I regret not setting up enough space for beacons (I did the no purple/yellow sci achievement) but even now I can tell that my next SA playthrough will be starting nauvis with 20 red/24 green and scale the other sciences there, and this time also include enough space for beaconing all the science...

If you do things like that before you go to Gleba (assuming it is your first or second planet), you'll probably blow them out of the water. I have no idea on the big variants though...

Actually planet evolution is separate and doesn't increase until either you land or get in orbit. At least I think so.

Not sure which.
