Heating tower base heat range bug?
I'm working on Aquilo right now, and I seem to have found a bug regarding the distance that the heating tower melts snow around it. When I first arrived, it appears to be able to thaw anything within 2 squares of it, which was handy at first but I never took advantage of it until I almost finished setting up science.

I wanted to use a tower to heat up a load of inserter->chests taking from my landing pad, but I noticed that a new tower I placed down doesn't seem to thaw items 2 squares away. The snow on concrete melts, but the items themselves show as frozen and won't work. Am I insane?

Could the fact that it is out of fuel possibly be connected to this?

I've not reached Aquillo yet, but Im pretty sure I've seen Nilaus discover the same thing recently. The tower heating has range of 1 (ONE) , but the snow melts on the ground in range of 2. Whether it's a visual bug or not, the heat radius of the tower is what's important here and it's 1.

I thought so, but when I put in fuel it still didn't heat up the belt. The gap between those belts shows the snow melted, but the belt itself not thawed.

Anyway, I'd say I found a bug. Either the thaw-range is supposed to be 2 but isn't (bug), or the snow melt range should be 1 but isn't (bug).

Melting the snow might for 2 might be the effect of the snow and tile at 1 being thawed out. The stuff at 2 is still frozen, but the surface snow melts from the little heat radiated in the concrete from tile 1.
