Launching a Rocket now, without the DLC?
I've just tried to launch a rocket to obtain white/space science packs, I don't have the expansion/ DLC as I've not even mastered the base game, but when I tried to put a satellite into the rocket and make it launch, the rocket it ate my satellite but didn't launch. I've put 2 more satellites in and still no launch. What am I missing with the changes?

Satellite aren't linked to the tocket launching but you need a satellite if you want space science when the rocket is launched.

I haven't played the base game in a while but you should just have a button in the rocket silo to launch the rocket

According to my knolwedge they changed the way we receive space science for even the base game, meaning now to get space science you need to place a landing bay. Which has the advantage of it being independent from rockets as you can just place the landing bay next to your science packs.

But that's just what I heard, I did not yet try it out on my own for the base game. But for the expansion this is exactly how you get them. Just without the need to send up any more rockets once you finished your space platform.

That's correct.
I had the same issue on my first run with 2.0 (Basegame).
Build the landing bay and then you will receive the white science packs.

Did you have an inserter taking things out of the launch platform? Because that'd be where your satellites would be going. You don't need to take things out of the launch platform any more, from what I gather.

I can't get the rocket to launch either. I place satellites (about a dozen tries) in the rocket silo and they disappear without launching the rocket. I've placed a landing pad next to the rocket silo and it makes no difference.

I just test it out and it work
- Build a rocket.
- Build a landing bay.
- send rocket with satellite to get space science

check for inserters taking item out from the rocket. for some reason. that is a thing. I think they should have removed that, now that silo do not provide science.

Got it to work. I had an inserter set up to remove science from the Rocket Silo. I remeoved the inserter and it worked fine.
Thanks!

Thanks for this, it is exactly the issue, the inserter took my satelites and threw them on the belts with all the other science packs at my lab setup. I like it now how the cargo bay receives the science packs, this will allow interesting rocket silo setups I think.
