Old mall blueprints (like belts, splitters, undergrounds, etc) still viable?
Pretty much the title. I've got some blueprints I've developed over the years from pre-2.0, and just started my first 2.0 space age run. I haven't seen any changes (I think) to the early recipes, so I was wondering if I could slap down some of my old blueprints, or if there were recipe changes at this stage of the game.

As near as I can tell, there aren't any major recipe changes until I get much further down the line - but I haven't been googling a ton, as I don't really want too many spoilers.

But I do want to know - are my low level mall setups likely to still be viable?

Anything before blue science should all work fine. From blue science on, things start changing.

OK, thanks much! That should simplify things a bit for me...

If something is wrong with your blueprint, the game will do its best to remove that or make it something else. If you had filter inserters, they no longer exist in the game so that will either be a blank machine or a regular fast insterter machine. If you had green or red wire machines, they will just be gone because they aren't an item anymore, they're just a free, infinite use thing on the blueprint bar now.

Mid and large power poles use wire instead of plates now, so any blueprint you set up with the old recipes will break in 2.0. Rails had their turn radius widened so your old rail blueprints cannot be manually built the same way in 2.0. You need to redo all of those.

Not much has changed for the early game. There are now triggered techs, where you do something (smelt 10 copper plate, for one example) to receive the technology. One interesting artifact of this is the Offshore Pump is now entirely iron based; no electronics circuits involved. I like having that in the mall; not everyone does. As mentioned above, Medium and Large Power Poles have changed from Copper Plate to Copper Wire. That may require a rethinking of your mall.

Landfill more than doubled in price though. It went from 20 Stone, to 50 Stone. I'm not sure why that particular change. At least it does not affect your mall (same ingredient, just more of it).

You may note that steam power ratios have changed.

Power poles have changed from copper plates to wires and stack inserters are now bulk inserters but still show on recipes as stack, other than those 2 things my old mall worked fine, took me a little while to notice why i wasn't getting anything.

Nope. Medium and big electric poles also changed. They now take copper cable instead of copper plates.
Filter inserters and filter stack inserters no longer exist.
And the old stack inserter remains the stack inserter - i.e. the new one that's Gleba tech. You'll need to manually adjust to the new bulk inserter, which is actually the old stack inserter.

Also of note for the early game is that the offshore pump has changed recipe. The circuits are completely removed from the recipe, and hence any connection with copper. Just gears and pipes. Also makes 1 less craft overall when doing hand-crafting and drops the minimum for LB to 102.
