Pumps won't pump into fluid wagon unless I replace them each time train arrives.
I have a train station. I have oil tanks full of crude oil. The train pulls up to the stop. There are pumps for each fluid wagon, connected to the oil tank via pipes. And they just sit there doing nothing. If I remove the pump and replace it, it pumps into the fluid wagon. Until the train leaves and makes its rounds and arrives at the station again. Again, nothing happens until I delete/replace the pump.

The tracks are not curved, they are perfectly straight. The pumps have power. The oil tanks are full. THere are no other fluids in the circuits/tanks/fluid wagons.

And each time I remove the pump and replace it, it starts pumping. When the train leaves, makes it's circuits, empties the tanks, and comes back, it stops and just sits there doing nothing. Pumps won't pump until I delete and replace them.

What's the train schedule say? Is it possible that it's trying to leave because there's not a wait condition that would make it wait?

OK solved - unlike cargo wagons that fill up with stuff if the train and inserter line up, the fluid wagons won't fill if the schedule is not on auto. I set it to manual as soon as train arrives at station because I was doing stuff, and it stops pumping when I do that. Weird

A screenshot usually helps a lot to be able to point out the reason why it isn't working as intended.

The rules of thumb for fluid wagons are as follow.
Only trains on auto, only straight rails for the full length of the train (bends or diagonals mess things up), pumps directly next to the rail and make sure the pumps are pointing the right direction to fill/empty.

EDIT: since it was the "auto", it works like this to prevent wagons from getting filled/emptied by a pump meant to handle a different fluid.
For example a train with 3 tanks, one for each refined oil product (light oil, heavy oil and petroleum gas), if it gets stopped for any reason at a slightly "wrong" place you would end up pumping light oil instead of petroleum for example, making a mess for the train and any stations it goes to.

That's probably going to be what I was getting at. Once you set it to manual the train is no longer stopped at a scheduled stop. The train has to be at the stop for the pumps to connect.

It will pump on manual but you have to move the train a bit and have it line up perfectly (which is not in the exact same spot as it is on automatic).
